Welcome to City of Grandvalira
Grandvalira in Andorra is one of the world's premier ski locations. Located in the northeast of Andorra, it is part of the parishes of Encamp and Canillo. Instead of ancient buildings, Grandvalira is instead a collection of 110 ski slopes that call to travelers from all over the world. This ski resort welcomes thousands of visitors each year who all clamor for a lift pass to some of the finest slopes available. The area also offers some of the best dining and shopping available, as well as activities for all ages.
Visitors are encouraged to stay a night at the Grandvilara Igloo Hotel, which offers a restaurant and a Jacuzzi. It is certainly an experince that the whole family will love. The Palau de Gel is another great choice for family fun, with plenty of activities that don't include skiing. The ice skating rink is the most popular feature. The Wellness Spa Soldeu is a great way to unwind after a day on the slopes or just to spend some time with a loved one. In addition to great winter fun, there is plenty of culture and education available, with the Museum of Electricity, the Canillo Itinerant Museum, and the Romanesque Itinterary of Encamp.
Sightseeing Of Grandvalir
Major international airports, such as Barcelona Airport or Toulouse-Blagnac Airport are both located more than 120 kilometers from Andorra. There are chartered coach and bus lines that travel to the resort town from these airports, or travelers may choose to arrive at Carcassonne Airport in Carcassonne, France. The only way to access Andorra is by road, unless travelers wish to charter a helicopter for delivery to Grandvalira. Once in the town, there are plenty of shuttles and other modes of transportation available. Several sights are within walking distance from the ski resorts, and in the summer, bicycles are a great way to see the area.
