Experience Sun, Sand, and Culture in Crete, Greece

Crete is the largest, most diverse island in Greece located on the Mediterranean Sea. Visit Crete to relax on the sun-drenched beach or take a hike along the Samaria Gorge. Greece is most well known for its astonishing natural beauty, but it is also a great tourist destination because of the warm, welcoming ambiance and the culture found throughout the city. The city is full of energy and sparkle, and many people find this enchanting island one of the most exciting to visit of the Cyclades.

Crete will allow you to enjoy more of the Mediterranean natural wonders because as you travel inland on the island, you will find an array of verdant green foliage to delight your senses. On any trip to Crete after you have spent a day on the coast, you may want to visit the historical ancient ruins of the Minoan civilization or sip tea or coffee at one of the many city cafes. The Samaria Gorge National Park is an outstanding place to hike and tour as the stonewalls weave through the dense foliage. It is certainly proof that there is much more to the Crete Island than just dazzling seascapes and breathtaking sunsets.

Although you will find a myriad of different natural elements to explore in Crete, you could probably spend a few weeks visiting the magnificent beaches. Vai is a particularly exquisite sandy beach decorated with green palm trees. Next, you can explore the quiet villages and the ancient city of Gortyna. You may also want to visit the Elounda Lagoon, Myrtos, Agia Roumeli, Spinalonga Island, and the beaches West of Chania.

For a richer experience in Crete, focus your trip on the south coast because it is much less heavily traveled and has a variety of secluded beaches and unique shopping centers.
